After a few months of using a 61 year old Agfa Isolette iii folding camera, I have posted a description and user report on my website.  These 50-60+ year old cameras are readily available on the used market and the relatively modest cost of acquiring one means they can  represent amazing value for money for photographers who enjoy using film as their creative medium.  The really good news is they are capable of impressive image quality, too.

Most of the original manufacturers of these iconic pre-slr cameras have disappeared, but their uncomplicated and robust mechanical construction means that these cameras are relatively easily and cost effectively refurbished.  An old folding camera that has been competently serviced will be good investment for at least another six decades of use.

The power of medium format that will fit into a coat pocket!  Fun to use, but capable of seriously good images,  there is a lot to recommend an old folding camera as a compact and lightweight carry around camera.
