I can think back over many winters of walking on Kinder Scout (my first visit was around 1966) to find the plateau and the Kinder River frozen solid. I love the River Kinder above and before it falls over the Kinder Downfall. One of my favourite places to sit and absorb on a sunny day. I like the mist sometimes. The skill of navigating through it and the satisfaction off doing so. Days like that sum up hill walking in the UK for me.
